Oxford Rd railway station - Manchester - Platform 2
Made by Gent this small double sided clock tells the time for passengers at a train station in Manchester.
Hanging from the roof above platform 2, Oxford Road Manchester, is a reminder of how analogue time has been replace by bright digital clocks.
The face is starting to become cream in colour and does not appear to be working.
Oxford Road railway station opened in 1849 and was rebuilt in the 1960′s.
It has five platforms

Possibly one of the most famous clocks in the UK apart of the clock on the Houses of Parliament is this clock at Carnforth Railway Station.

The clock is marked “Joyce Whitchurch”, who were probably the suppliers of the clock.
Filming for the film ‘ Brief Encounter’ took place during February 1945. It was directed by David Lean and starred Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson.
The film which was based on a half-hour stage play written by Noel Coward called ‘Still Life’.
Although on the West Coast Main Line Inter-city trains do not stop here.
The Carnforth Station and Railway Trust Company Ltd is a registered charity and was created by a group of local people to save and renovate the historically interesting buildings at Carnforth station. it was formed in 1996.

Digital clocks are all around and this one at Carlisle railway station is a good example of a clock and information source unit.

A lot of information is disclosed quickly using these devices including destinations and if the service is on time.
It looks as if the clock is LED lit and is possibly radio controlled to ensure accuracy.
